Kutayba Alghanim is the chairman of Alghanim Industries, a diversified conglomerate founded in 1932 by his late father, Yusuf Alghanim. The group operates across multiple sectors, including automotive distribution, consumer electronics, food and beverage, and retail.
Alghanim Industries is the authorized distributor of General Motors and Ford vehicles in Kuwait. It also owns a major consumer electronics retail business and operates Wendy’s restaurants across the Middle East, among other ventures.
Kutayba’s son, Omar Alghanim, who holds an MBA from Harvard University, serves as the company’s chief executive officer.
Kutayba and his brother, Bassam Alghanim, have been engaged in a legal dispute over the division of inherited assets. The matter has been referred to a Swiss arbitration court for resolution.
